Falls and Global Positioning Gadgets

Posted by Patrick on 20th December 2006

We had an amazing in a way of how-warm-it-was weekend. One week before Christmas and it was close to ten degrees (that’s Celsius) above zero! Every weekend we try to get somewhere away from out home. Even if just for a few hours.

Mainly thanks to my newly aquired gadget last Sunday we visited Churches Falls, which is less than one hour drive from our home.

Last week I bought Mio C310 SX GPS device that comes preoladed with a detailed map of Canada. It doesn’t have as much information about Points of Interests (POI) as Garmin Nuvi 660, but it does cost $630 less. After a bit of customizing the unit to my liking I was able to load onto it thousands of Tim Horton’s location all across US and Canada, list of Ontarion wineries, and also a list of waterfalls in Southern Ontario.

I have never even thought before that besides the Niagara Falls we have waterfalls in Ontario worth seeing. Well, apparently we do have a number of them, and Churches Falls were the ones we decided to explore first.
