Looking at those pistures brought so much grief to a heart that I
thought was done mourning. You have done a great job with this dedication. Thank
you. and God Bless.
- Josie in Brampton (2002.09.11 12:03) (2002.09.11 00:11)
I have just finished viewing all your pictures. I remembered my
first reaction was "Oh my God" can this really be happening on our side of the
world. It took me no time to come home and get my children from school and just
be close to them. The tears were continuous for days for all those families
who lost loved ones. It was just to close to home for me and I thought what
Country is next? I live near the airport it was very difficult to listen
everynight to the planes without fear. Your pictures will always be a reminder that
a repeat of 9/11 should never, never happen again. God bless everyone!!
- Raq Castillo & Raeanne Dunn (2002.09.11 00:21)
We think you really did a good job in representing the tragedy and
reality of September 11th, 2001. Our hearts feel as well as our prayers go out
to all the victims and families that were lost in this act of terrorism.
- George Hickman (Ft Lauderdale) (2002.09.11 00:26)
A wonderful job on a horrific event. It is the essence for which
this nation stands.
- Mary Auld (2002.09.11 00:30)
Always my thoughts and prayers are with the poor souls trapped in
those terrible towers. The horror and fear must have been terrible for them.
More than any of the sights I saw during that awful day, the sight of tiny
little faces at the windows of the Trade Centre buildings was horrifying to me.
I know that God must have been with them during that awful time and pray
that they did not suffer too much.
- Marcus (2002.09.11 00:30)
Thanks for sharing. I fear this event has lit the powder keg. The
lights around the world have gone out and they may not relight in our lifetime.

Our elders remembered where they were on the day that Kennedy was
shot. We will remember where we were Sept. 11. Seeing those pictures of the
towers engulfed in flames/smoke takes my breath away. again. Your pictures have
captured a day in history that no one can forget.

Excellent shots of a tragic event we Canadians will also never
forget. The "sounds" of the destruction you heard must have been frightful...
Everyone on my floor at Transport Canada watched the live TV coverage in shock on

clouds are divided with a wide open patch in between them. God is talking to
all.
I'm looking in on the outside. I cannot forget. Thank-you for sharing from
an angle we did not see from the media. Anyone can say what they want to say,
but it's really different now.
- Ian (from Toronto) (2002.09.11 01:48)
Patrick, you have achieved a wonderful memorial to the events of
that tragic and horrifying day, thank you. I remember that one of the most
incredible things about 9/11 was that it was such a gorgeous day in New York which
your camera captured very nicely. For me, the weather really brought home what
a truly monstrous crime this act was. My deepest sympathies to all who
suffered a personal loss that day and my full support to the United States and her
efforts to wipe out terrorism. God Bless America.

My heart goes out to the citizens of New York. IT HAPPENED THERE. I suppose
people would act no differently if it happened in Toronto, but I just can't

I went to NYC for the first time in Dec 2000. I took a bus tour of
the city which included a lift up the Empire State Building for a view of the
city. Instead, the tour guide took us to the WTC south tower for a view of
the city. I remember the magnificent twin towers, the breath-taking views from
them and their grandeur. On 9/11/01, I looked at my pictures and cried from
shock, horror and disbelief that these 2 buildings are no longer there. My
thoughts and prayers are with all the families who have suffered so much in this
tragedy.
- Sara in London, On (2002.09.11 08:42)
Words cannot express the heavy hearts felt that day. I was impressed
when I took a car full of friends down to the blood bank, to find that it was
over a 4 hour wait. The way people came togather to do what ever they could
to help all the people in NewYork.

Appreciate you putting together this chronicle. The picture you have
painted adds a different feel to the events that I witnessed through the TV
that day last year. One of my family in Australia had a lawyer in his firm who
escaped from one of the top floors of the WTC. Thanks for sharing your
personal reflections on such a sad and world-impacting event.

I lived in Singapore at the time and my wife and I saw the second
plane hit live on CNN. Even that far away you got very effected and we,
including and all our friends, (of various nationalities and none of them being
American) felt disbelief and anger for a long time. The first week it was hard to
concentrate on anything else other than trying to catch the latest on TV. This
tragedy definitely affected people around the whole world. Al Queda made a big
mistake that day and will find very little support for their so-called cause
wherever they go.
You have made a great site, it feels much more real to see the story
unfolded by a normal citizen, as opposed to a journalist.
- JIM ROBERTS (2002.09.11 09:39)
YOU HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB OF CAPTURING THAT HISTORIC DAY GOD
BLESS YOU.......
- Cathy Bristow (2002.09.11 09:41)
With this site you have done an excellent job. I never watch the
news as a rule but for some strange reason on Sept. 11 2001 I turned it on just
moments before the first plane hit the tower. I was home with my 2yr old son.
All I could do was hug him and cry. My heart goes out to all those that lost
someone on that tragic day and to those that helped for days weeks on end. I
live in Canada but it is a day that forever will be with me. Today is Sept. 11
2002 I watched many things on T.V. today and it still hit home. I saw a show
last night on tv about many of the firemen that helped that day and all I could
do was cry! I do believe there truly will be a day of reckoning where those
that commited this horrible act will get their's. My heart is with the US today
and again amazing site!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and
photographs. Many of us remember spending that day ferverishly trying to contact loved
ones who live mere blocks from where the Trade Centre towers stood. Each of
your photographs helped me to get a sense of what it may have been like to be in
Manhatten that morning, but I don't think anything I can imagine will ever
compare to the experience that you, and the many others who were in New York
that day, had.

the tail of a sleeping dragon.

This is an excellent website, Pat you've done a great job.
September 11th was an extremely confusing day. I started work in the morning
as usual (I do IT sales), and had to go write a software certification exam
at 10:00AM. I knew the planes had hit WTC & Pentagon- people had collected
downtown (I lived in Saskatoon at the time) to stare at the CBC tv monitors.
Myself & a co-worker went to write our exams. We emerged an hour later to find the
city deserted, absolutely nobody anywhere. We went back to our office to find
everyone gone- a shift manager remebered we were in exams & stayed at the
office to tell us to go home. I went to the city bus stop- no busses! I started
walking home not knowing if this was WWIII or what. My co-worker called on my
cell & asked if any busses were running...I replied "Uh, nooooo...." so he gave
me a ride home. On September 9th I had purchased a satelite TV system, so I
tuned in to 150 channels of burning buildings and mayhem. This, bar none, was
the weirdest 3 hour period of my life.
God bless Canada
God bless America
God bless us all.

For those of us who laugh.......and have not laughed.
For those of us who cry.....and have not cried.
For those of us who love.....and have not loved.
For those of us who have lost....and have not lost.
The pain cannot be described, nor imagined. Thoughts and prayers to those
who have lost so much. Out of this misery will come solace, as those who are
gone watch over us. My deepest sympathies.

A poignant reminder of last September's terrible tragedy. Thank you
for sharing both your thoughts and your pictures.
- Bill from Toronto (2002.09.11 16:01)
When you are taking pictures you are looking at what is around you
in sort of a directors eye. You have to distant yourself from what you see.
Because of this the old saying a picture is worth a thousand words is true.
You are trying to think of how you should take-meaning-understand what is on the
photographers mind. You have not only let us into your thoughts but have
brought the pictures alive like I am there while it all is happening. I can
feel your pain and understand why you thought that you could not help out by
giving blood, but by taking these pictures and remembering the accounts of each
picture, you have done and even greater unselfish act. You have saved forever
that day of 9-11 so that are children and everyone else who sees these pics
will remember why we must look the devil in his eyes and fight for all that we
are worth for freedom. You have done a wonderful job. God Bless to you and to
everyone who has a heart. And may we never forget the dead.

Very, very touching Patrick !!! An excellent job during a very
trying time. May we never forget those that were lost in this cowardly act of
terrorism. My thoughts are with their souls and their family members left
behind !!!

i was in class on a tuesday morning when the planes hit the towers.
the teachers took all the grade sevens down to the gymnasium for a quick
assembly and told us what happened we were devistated. my friends teacher has 3
daughters who worked in the twin towers, one called insick on that day, one
didn't feel like going to work that day because her sister was sick, the otherone
was late for work and watched the planes hit the tower right before she made it
in the building. my heart goes out to all the people who lost loved ones in
the act of terrorizm i may be only 12 years old but i do belive that terrorizm
can be stopped without war.
peace be with you

My heart goes to those who have lost loved ones, friends, or family
in sept 11th 2001. Looking back on these photos brings back that horrific day
as i remember sitting in my living room on the internet and the news on
watching in horror as the planes hit.

Since Sept11, 2oo1, I have tried very hard to distance myself from
the tragedy in New York. I would not read the newspaper articles and even as
of yesterday, the 11th, I turned the channel reather than live though that
horror again. Your photographs and thoughts of those day's helped me to go
through the...I can't even find a word to descibe my feelings.. to live it again at
a pace that I can accept but not yet understand. Thank you for your work and
God Bless all of our American friends.

Thank you Patrick. Your photo-bio of that day truly touched me. I
was fortunate to have left there the Monday morning after spending the weekend
with friends, but I was affected silently until our Thanksgiving, when I return
to NY and visit the site.
Thank you for putting this experience in prospective for me... GREAT JOB!
- Don (2002.09.11 17:05)
I live in St. John's NF and we were honoured to be able to provide
some measure of comfort to a large number of "guests" from all parts of the
world as a result of 9-11. We had several ceremonies here in the province today
and I think for most of us it's like last year all over. I can't pretend that
I know what the families of the many many victims are feeling but it has
definately given me a much deeper sense of appreciation of the world around me,
and in particular, my own family. I think we have to start looking at the big
picture: forget color, nationality, relegious beliefs, and so
on...............we are all human beings and no one deserves what happened last year!!!!!!!!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with all those people, whom even though I have
never met I feel a common bond with. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- What now? Mississauga, Ontario(2002,09,11) (2002.09.11 17:28)
What does the future have in store for North America? Like every
event that happens in our lives, we become accustom. Will we ever forget about
what happened in New York on that fateful day? I certain think not. But What I
do know is that humans tend to relax themselves as time progresses. We cannot
allow that to happen my fellow brothers and sisters. We must strive for the
peace this world so desperately needs. I really do not wish to see such a tragety
like this happen ever again. But so as long as there are people who are being
oppressed in the world, that environment will always breed the monsters
capable of pulling off such horrible acts. We all must remember that Evil people
were once innocent babies. It's not nature but nurture. May God bless the world,
and may you help us open our minds before we all perish.

This site is so inspirational, I couldn't help but cry when seeing
the suffering that happened on that tragic day. Thank you very much for sharing
you wonderful photos with all of us. My aunt was in one of the WTC buildings
that were hit when this happened, but luckily she survived. This situation,
and your photos have helped me to realize to tell the ones around me that I love
them every day.
